Course Description:
A course primarily designed and organized for students of all ages to optimize their wellness in each of the following six interrelated dimensions: Physical Wellness, Intellectual Wellness, Emotional Wellness, Spiritual Wellness, Interpersonal/Social Wellness, and Environmental/ Planetary Wellness. From the information obtained in the course, students will identify how to apply this information to lead healthy lives that contribute to the welfare of the community and environment.

Course Prerequisites:
Check with your Doctor to start a weight training and exercise program, clearly noting any perceived limitations. Designed for beginners, and advanced pupils.
Course Objectives:
Increase Love and Gratitude
1. Learn the 6 dimensions of Wellness
2. Learn the 5 Components of Health and Fitness
3. Learn the FITT principle of training
4. Understand what a good pre and post-workout meal comprises of
5. To gain the ability to write a workout prescription
6. Complete and pass 3 diagnostic tests
7. Apply Health and Fitness to your life
8. Write a 2 page research paper on a dimension of wellness that will increase awareness (with 3 resources) *rough draft due as mid term
Attendance:
THANK YOU for coming to class. My Love and Gratitude can not be expressed in words so I will give it to you in knowledge-hopefully you can make wisdom out of it. Attendance is based on your discretion. Ask other students for relevant information.
Every class has a world of information and passion applied to class and will never be replicated-be there ON TIME.
Thank You for coming in Quietly to class, and speaking ONLY when ALL the class can here so we can all have focus for learning--IF you can not or, are not interested please do something more productive instead.
IF you wish for a high grade-and you miss class get notes.
IF you wish for a high grade-and you miss a work out (end portion of class or LAB HOURS) do 200 Squats and 100 push ups (PERFECT form) (with absolutely no pain dizziness or nausea in as little time as possible) -or- a self created workout prescription with a high percieved rate of exercition with absolutely no pain, dizziness, or nasau.
IF you wish for a high grade-For every class you miss-do extra credit AND write a paragraph on "notes" of the class you missed.
Grade:
Grades are based on Research Paper or final (Research Paper unless told otherwise - this will be decided per class with teachers’ discretion). The more you learn the more you know! AND the higher you’re graded. A 2 page (or a bit more if necessary) research paper on a dimension of wellness that will increase awareness (with 3 resources) or something discussed in class (such as the absorption of nutrients in an athletic body versus sedentary). Teach Me Something for a Good Grade. Send an email or see me at the end of class to approve your topic. Your mid-term will be the first copy of your final research paper. You will be graded on this paper and ways to improve your grade will be listed. You will then present your paper in the last few weeks of class. All grades will be given the last day of class and may be discussed. The last 30-45 minutes of class will be dedicated towards specilized movement. This may include exercise testing or specific study of movement. Also see Attendance.
